LOLA (2023)
In 1941, music-loving sisters Thomasina (Emma Appleton) and Martha Hanbury (Stefanie Martini) build a curious machine called ‘LOLA’, which can intercept radio and TV broadcasts from the future.
At first, the sisters use LOLA to indulge their musical tastes and listen to iconic music from the future… but they soon realise their creation may hold the secret to fending off the advancing Nazi threat, with world altering consequences.
With a Musical score written by Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy and partially shot on striking 16mm with a Bolex camera, LOLA is a refreshing new narrative in the world of independant British Film.
