Till (2023)
Till is the story of a Mother’s fight for justice in the face of overwhelming opposition.
In 1955 the lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till prompted a twenty year campaign for social reform from his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley.
Through the eyes of Mamie (Danielle Deadwyler) we embark on a potent mixture of courtroom drama, activism and personal tragedy, as she battles for her son’s justice amid America’s emerging civil rights movement. This brave stand paved the way for the “Emmit Till Lynching Act” which was passed in US law only last year.
Produced by and starring Whoopi Goldberg as Alma Carthan.
“Till is a fierce portrait of courage and a sombre study of the human cost involved in resisting barbarity”
