Celebrating its 60th Anniversary, this 1966 epic ‘spaghetti Western’ from director Sergio Leone stars Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach.
Amid the chaos of the American Civil War, three gunslingers (Blondie, Tuco, and Angel Eyes) race to uncover a fortune in stolen Confederate gold. Each holds part of the secret to its location, but uneasy alliances and shifting loyalties lead them toward a legendary final showdown
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is well known for Leone’s use of long shots and close-up cinematography, as well as his distinctive use of violence, tension, and stylistic gunfights.
Tonino Delli Colli, the director of photography, was responsible for the remarkable sweeping widescreen cinematography whilst the film’s memorable main theme, and score, is by Italian composer Ennio Morricone.
