The Elephant Man (1980)
To celebrate the life and works of David Lynch, the highly revered director, we are bringing one of his most notorious films, The Elephant Man, back to the big screen.
Based on the remarkable true story of Joseph Merrick, The Elephant Man stars Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Frederic Treves, the man who discovered Joseph Merrick (John Hurt) in a sideshow.
Born with a congenital disorder, Merrick uses his disfigurement to earn a living as the “Elephant Man.”
When Treves brings Merrick into his home, he discovers that his rough exterior hides a refined soul, and that Merrick could teach the stodgy British upper class of the time a lesson about dignity.
