Hard Truths (2025)
Acclaimed British filmmaker Mike Leigh returns with this incredibly compassionate drama set in London.
Bafta-winner Marianne Jean-Baptiste is Pansy, a woman wracked by anger and depression and prone raging tirades against her husband, son, and anyone who looks her way. Meanwhile, her easygoing younger sister (Michele Austin) is a single mother with a life as different from Pansy’s as their clashing temperaments.
This expansive film takes us into the intensities of kinship, duty, and that we still can find ways to love those we call family.
Hard Truths was nominated for two Bafta awards.
