Free Dawn Screening: 633 Squadron (1964)

The Fordingbridge Regal Cinema Club’s Chairman Brian Currie is hosting a dawn screening of 633 Squadron on Remembrance Sunday. There is no charge for this screening, however there will be a collection box for the Poppy Appeal.

Based on true events, 633 Squadron stars Oscar winners Cliff Robertson and George Chakiris as two WWII fliers pitted against the Nazis in a do-or-die mission.

Filled with “blazing, pulse-pounding and realistic air-fighting footage” (Boxoffice), 633 Squadron will “put your heart in your throat” (Los Angeles Times)! 1944. Allied forces learn that the Nazis are planning to pummel England with an all-out rocket blitz.

The only way to stop the threat is to send Mosquito bombers into narrow Norwegian fjords to create an avalanche that will crush the Nazis rocket-fuel plants. Can Wing Commander Roy Grant (Robertson) and the boys of the courageous 633 Squadron pull it off? And if so, will they live to reap the glory?

“Over a splendidly vibrant score, the spectacular aerial photography still looks good after all these years”
