Dr. Strangelove (1964)

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

An unhinged US general orders a bombing attack on the Soviet Union, triggering a path to nuclear holocaust that a war room full of politicians and generals tries to stop.

Only he knows the code to recall the B-52 bombers but has shut down all communications.

At the Pentagon, an eccentric former Nazi scientist (Dr Strangelove) is tasked with preventing the attack.

This Cold War satire is directed by Stanley Kubrick and stars Peter Sellers and George C Scott.
