Untouchable (2011)

The Regal’s Foreign Film series presents the French film Untouchable (released in France as “The Intouchables”).

Inspired by the life of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, Untouchable is a beautiful French film about Parisian aristocrat Philippe (François Cluzet) who is quadriplegic as a result of a paragliding accident.

Philippe, who is in need of a new live-in carer, finds himself confronted with a very unorthodox applicant in the form of recently-paroled convict Driss (Omar Sy).

The two very different men, from very different walks of life, bond and develop a close friendship and unique friendship.

Untouchable was a huge, somewhat unlikely, hit in France, becoming the second biggest Box Office favourite and raking in a staggering €360 million.

Earlier this year ‘The Upside’ was released; an English-language remake of Untouchable that starred Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad).

This film is in French with English subtitles.
