The Regal’s Foreign Film series presents the German film Transit.
Adapted from a 1944 novel by German author Anna Seghers, the film sees Georg (Franz Rogowski) flee France after the Nazi invasion where upon he assumes the identity of a dead author whose papers he possesses. Stuck in Marseilles, he meets a young woman desperate to find her missing husband – the very man he’s impersonating.
Nominated for awards at a selection International Film Festivals (including Dublin, Berlin and Chicago to name but a few), Transit has received incredible critic reviews praising Director Christian Petzold’s adaption for being a gripping and tense thriller-drama.
