Aladdin (2019)

Disney’s live action remake, directed by Guy Ritchie, reworks the classic and well-loved story of Aladdin, bringing it to a new generation of cinema-goers, providing a new, fast-paced and action-packed dynamic to the fictitious port city of Agrabah.

When Aladdin frees a genie from a lamp, granting all of his wishes and transforming himself into a charming prince in order to marry the beautiful princess Jasime, all seems to good to be true. But soon an evil sorcerer becomes hell-bent on securing the lamp for his own sinister purposes, and Aladdin must work with his newfound friend the genie to prevent the evil sorcerer from overthrowing Jasmine’s kingdom.

Will Smith takes over from the wonderful Robin Williams in the portrayal of the genie and provides a fresh perspective, while preserving some of the genie’s classic moments from the original.
